Privacy Policy

FeatherPack is a gear-tracking app for ultralight backpackers. This page explains what information the app collects, why, and how you can remove it.

What we collect

• Account. Every install gets an anonymous account automatically. If you choose to sign in with Apple, we store the identifier Apple gives us, and your name/email if you share them.
• Photos of your gear. When you scan an item, the photo is used to identify it and is stored so it can show up in your inventory.
• Gear and pack data. Item names, brands, weights, categories, and the packs you build from them.
• Barcodes. When you scan a barcode, the number is used to look up the product.

Who we share it with

• Supabase hosts our database and stores your photos and gear data (EU region).
• Anthropic (Claude) receives photos and label text you scan, to identify the product, its category, and its weight. No other personal data is sent.
• UPCItemDB receives barcode numbers you scan, to look up product information.

Text recognition (reading a label in the camera view) happens on your device and is not sent anywhere by itself, only when FeatherPack looks up or identifies a product is data sent to the services above.

Sharing a pack

If you use the Share feature on a pack, that pack's name, items, and weights become visible to anyone with the link, until you turn sharing off. Nothing else in your account becomes public.

Your data, your control

You can delete your account at any time from Me → Account → Delete account. This permanently removes your account and everything in it, every item and every pack, right away.

Children

FeatherPack is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
